Ralph Lamarco

YOUNGSTOWN - Prayers will begin Friday at 9:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church for Ralph LaMarco, 90, who died peacefully Sunday, June 17, 2018, at his home.

Ralph was born April 20, 1928, in Youngstown, a son of Giovanni and Irma LaMarco.

He served in the Army during the Korean War and eventually retired from General Motors in 1993 after working more than two decades.

After retirement, he was always surrounded at the LaMarco home by family, friends and neighbors. Ralph was known for helping anyone in need whether it was shoveling snow off a driveway, mowing a lawn, or sharing some home-made wine. When he wasn't at home with family and friends, he could be seen tooling around town in his pride and joy Chevy S-10. Never wavering and always loyal, he also loved to cheer on his Indians and Browns.

Ralph was preceded in death by the love of his life, Carmel LaMarco, in 2015.

He will be sadly missed by his family, his daughter, Pam Dickerhoof of Austintown; his son, John LaMarco (Chris O'Leary) of Columbus; his grandchildren, Matt (Vivian) Dickerhoof and Mark Dickerhoof; and two great-grandchildren, Ava and Alaina.

Ralph is also survived by his sister, Connie Lepore; his brothers-in-law, Jim Pupino (Sophie) and Nick Pupino (Marie); and sister-in-law, Isabel Pupino.

He was preceded in death by his brothers-in-law, Gus Lepore and Robert Pupino.

Family and friends may call Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank his caregivers, Brittany and Debbie.
