AUSTINTOWN - Prayers will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, for Raymond M. Koneval, 82, who passed away Sunday morning at St. Elizabeth Select Specialty.
Raymond was born Dec. 1, 1929, in Youngstown, a son of the late Paul and Helen Sinal Koneval.
Raymond was a 1948 graduate of Chaney High School and received an associate's degree at Youngstown State University. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was manager of delivery and collections for the U.S. Postal Service and retired in 1985. He was a social member of the Saxon Club and was a member of their bocce and golf leagues.
Raymond leaves his wife, the former Rose T. Fiordelise, whom he married Nov. 6, 1951; his daughter, Theresa Koneval of Austintown; his two sons, Stephen Christine Koneval of Beloit and Michael Jaynee Koneval of Boardman; three brothers, John Betsy Koneval of Youngstown, Robert Jerry Koneval of Youngstown and William Amy Koneval of Texas; and six grandchildren, Stephen, Jacob, Gillian, Danielle, Samantha and Adam.
Raymond was also preceded in death by four sisters, Helen Troxil, Mary Walko, Francis Filek, and Catherine and Lara Koneval; and a brother, Stephen Koneval.
Family and friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
