Raymond Spassil, 85
LAKE MILTON- A Mass od Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Catherine Church in Lake Milton for Raymond Spassil, 85, who died Friday Morning, Sept. 7, in the Briarfield at Ashley Circle after a breif illness.
Mr. Spassil was born Oct. 23, 1921 in Youngstown to the late Michael and Mary Korhan Spassil.
Raymond was a graduate of Chaney High School, class of 1939, and a lifelong parishioner of Holy Name Church.
He retired from the U.s. Postal Service with more than 25 years of service to the North Jackson Post Office.
He was a WWII U.S. Army veteran, serving under General Patton in France and Germany, an avid gardner and bee keeper, a member of the Farm Bureau, and a partner in S&M Farms.
Besides his parents he was proceeded in death by a brother, Lawrence Spassil; and a nephew, Stephen Di Moff.
He is Survived by two sisters, Ann Gagye of Poland and Virginia Milo of Diamond; nieces and nephews Kenneth Di Moff, Raymond Spassil, Patricia Opsitnik, Beverly Edl, Ronald Milo, and Gary Milo; and great grandnieces and grandnephews Jennifer, Lisa, Ronell, Allison, Bryan, Sean, Amy Aaron, Michelle, Kimberly, Nicholas, Shane, Mark and Eric.
Friends may call one hour prior to services, from 10-11 a.m., at the church.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
