BOARDMAN -- Services will be Saturday at 9:00 AM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Canfield and 9:30 Am in St. Michael Church, Canfield for Mr. Raymond P. Vodhanel age 63, who died Tuesday evening at his residence with his family at his side after a courageous 5 year battle with cancer. Mr. Vodhanel was born June 29, 1940, in Youngstown, a son of Paul and Helen Gondol Vodhanel. He was a 1958 graduate of Chaney High School. He had worked for the United States Post Office for 35 years as a carrier, clerk, and mail handler retiring in Nov. 2000. Mr. Vodhanel a U.S. Navy veteran served during the Cuban Missile Crisis, he was a member of the VFW Post # 7587 , the American Legion and the church. His interests were gardening, outdoor activities and sports, especially football and NASCAR. Besides his mother of Youngstown, he leaves his wife the former Winifred "Winnie" Pritchard whom he married August 10, 1968, a daughter Tami Tracy Halker of Columbus, a son Chad Kimberly of Boardman, a sister Loretta George Naples of Austintown, many loving nieces, nephews and his in-laws, Carlisle and Dorothy Pritchard of Liberty. He was preceded in death by his father. Friends may call Friday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
