BOARDMAN - Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel for Richard C. Aey, 76, who passed away peacefully early Sunday morning at his home surrounded by his family.
Richard was born July 1, 1933 in Youngstown, a son of John Emerson and Marian Messerly Aey.
Richard was a 1952 graduate of East High School. He attended the Ohio State University and then went and served in the Army during the Korean War. After serving in the military, he attended Youngstown College.
Richard was founder of Aey Electric and retired in 2003. He was a member of the Tippecanoe Country Club, the Saxon Club, and the Spanish Wells Country Club in Bonita Springs, Fla.
Richard leaves his wife, the former Mary Jarvis, whom he married July 6, 1957; his five children, Sandy Andy Hickman of Cincinnati, Susan Todd McHugh of Cold Springs, Ky., Robert Gloria Aey of Canfield, Marianne Jim Price of Ft. Thomas, Ky. and Rick Anna Aey of Canfield; his brother, John Joyce Aey of Austintown; his two sisters, Winnie Don Trotter of Canfield and Ruth Ray McCune of Canfield; and 14 grandhcildren.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, William Aey.
The family will be receiving friends Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
