AUSTINTOWN - There will be services at 11 a.m. Friday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, for Richard E. Allen Sr., 70, who passed away Tuesday from cancer at the home of his daughter.
He was born Nov. 13, 1935 in Youngstown, the son of Eugene G. Allen and Mae R. Krupa Allen.
Richard was the owner of R. Allen Co. Service Station Maintenance for over 30 years. He was an Army veteran, having served in Seoul, Korea. He enjoyed family gatherings, hunting, fishing and talking with his many friends about
his love of auto racing. He owned a pure stock car that raced at Sharon Speedway for many years and
was also a member of Twin State Auto Racing Club.
His wife, the former Pearl Clegg, passed away in 1999.
He will be sadly missed by his daughters, Debra John Isabella and Sandra Dan Limbeck; a son, Richard Allen Jr.; nine granddaughters, Shannon, Jill,
Angela, Christy, Charity, Victoria, Michelle, Justine and Jamie; a great-grandson, Joey; a great-granddaughter, Summer; two sisters, JaniceLouie Carr and Shirley Ray Thomas; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife, Richard was preceded in death by his parents.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Hospice of the Valley for their sincere efforts and their much needed support.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
