Services will be Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel for Richard H. age 62 of Poland Twp. who passed away Saturday morning at his home.
Richard was born January 2, 1942, in Youngstown, the son of Richard and Jane Kerchgesner Bloomingdale and was a lifelong area resident.
He was a 1960 graduate of Sprinfield Local High School, and had worked at the Kessler Extrusion Company, and was the owner operator with his family of Bloomingdale's Point. He had coached baseball at all levels for over 20 years, and had taken an active role in all charitable events held at the Point. He had been a member of Zion Lutheran Church in New Middletown, and was a devoted husband and father.
He is survived by his wife the former Candy Gerner, whom he married January 16, 1965, three sons, Rich Teresa Bloomingdale of Grove City, PA, Mark Pam Bloomingdale of Columbus, Oh, and Jeff Kelly Bloomingdale of Boardman, a sister Rebecca Mason of New Middletown, a brother Dennis Bloomingdale of Boardman, four grandchildren, Devon, Marquis, Talyn, and Bylan Bloomingdale, and his beloved dog Sebastian.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 PM Monday, and for one hour prior to services Tuesday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel.
