Richard E. Chamberlain, 79
Austintown- Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10:30am in the Disciples Christian Church, Boardman for Richard E. Chamberlain, 79 of Austintown, who passed away Thursday, July 19th at the Hospice House.
Richard was born July, 7, 1928 in High Bridge, Wisconsin the only son of the late Edwin and Wilma Chamberlain.
He was an Army Veteran serving during the Korean War in the 45th division Reconnaissance Company and was honorably discharged.
Mr. Chamberlain graduated from DePaul University in 1954 with a bachelors degree in accounting. He joined General Motors in 1955 at the new Fisher Body Plant in Marion, Indiana and was transferred to the division's central office in 1964 as divisional audior. In 1969 he was promoted to the Lordstown complex as a general supervisor in the accounting department where he retired after 27 years of service.
Richard was an avid reader and had a variety of interests. He created lamps in stained glass, did woodworking, and completed crossword puzzles as a hobby. However, his greatest accomplishment was music. He performed with the Youngstown Symphony Chorus, Saxon Club Concordia Chorus, AARP Notables and for many years in his church choir. Music was his enjoyment, which he passed on to his children and grandchildren.
Richard leaves to cherish his memory Patricia M. Chamberlain, his wife of over 53 years; two sons Keith E. Chamberlain of Waldorf, Maryland and Bradley A. Chamberlain of Boardman; a daughter Elizabeth a Kuhl of New Bern, North Carlolina; five grandchildren, Page Chamberlain of Maryland, Brittany and Brandon Chanberlain of Boardman, and Justin and Derrick Kuhl of North Carolina.
Richard bestowed his children with the attributes of honesty and hard work. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Friends and family may call 5-8pm Monday at the Higgins Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at the church at 10:30am, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial in Brunstetter Cemetery
