YOUNGSTOWN - There will be services Friday at 9:15 a.m. at the
Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel and a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Luke's Church for Richard D. "Rick" Moran Jr., 50, of
Cleveland, formerly of Youngstown, who passed away Tuesday morning at his family¹s home in Boardman after a one-year battle with cancer.
Rick was born Jan. 16, 1956, in Sharon, Pa., the eldest son of Richard and Elizabeth Nicholas Moran.
He attended St. Dominic¹s and Cardinal Mooney High School. and in 1974, graduated from Boardman High School. He was a self-employed painter and carpenter, specializing in finished
carpentry and staining for many premier builders in the Cleveland area.
Rick enjoyed music and attending concerts and was an avid Cleveland Browns fan, tailgater and season ticket holder. He was a terrific cook and a frequent diner at many restaurants in Cleveland and was on a first-name basis with many of the area chefs and restaurant owners.
He is survived by his parents, Richard Sr. and Sandy Moran of Boardman; four sisters, Mary ³Micki² Moran of Chicago, Kelly Dave Wolford of Canfield,
Meg Handel Ray Seidita of Cape Canaveral, Fla., and Maureen Brice of Boardman; two brothers, Kevin Stephanie Moran of Charlotte, N.C., and Jamie Moran and his friend Sharon Morgan of Youngstown; three stepbrothers,
Kurt Marie Walters, Keith Debbie Walters and Craig Daisy Walters; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother Elizabeth "Nicki" Nicholas.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
