YOUNGSTOWN - Richard "Dick" Ronan, extraordinary father and husband, passed in peace at his home, surrounded by his children on Thursday Aug. 18, 2011.
Dick was born July 18, 1931, in Youngstown, son of the late James and Agaitha.
A 1951 Woodrow Wilson High School graduate, Dick attended the University of Tampa, and was one of the founders of The Fighting Little Redmen. An outdoorsman and animal lover, he was a custodian of nature.
Preceded by his loving wife, Sherrill, they paved the path for five children and their families, Jim, Jeff, Eric, Michael and Mary. He will also be missed by his loyal friend, Abbey.
There will be no local memorial service, per Dick's wishes.
In lieu of flowers, donations could be made to Hospice of the Valley.
Professional arrangements are being handled by the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel.
