Richard J. Shutrump, 64
POLAND Services will be Thursday from 9:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon
Funeral Home, Poland Chapel and at 10 a.m. at the Holy Family Church for
Richard J. Shutrump, 64, who died Sunday afternoon at Hospice House.
Richard was born Dec. 5, 1942 in Youngstown, the son of Victor E. and
Florence L. Knott Shutrump.
He was a 1961 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School and later attended
Youngstown State University and Austin Peay University.
He had served in the Army Corps of Engineers stationed in Korea during the
Vietnam War.
Mr. Shutrump was the owner/operator and president of Warren Industrial
Service. He was a member of the Holy Family Church.
He is survived by his wife, the former Elizabeth ³Betty² Velk, whom he
married Feb. 12, 1966; a daughter, Whitney and her husband, Russell Bogan of
Columbus; a son, Richard J. Shutrump Jr. of Poland; a brother, William; and
three grandchildren, Brianna Shutrump and Ethan and Madalynne Bogan.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Victor and Robert
Shutrump.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral
Home, Poland Chapel.
The family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations
to either the Hospice House, 9803 Sharrott Road, Poland, OH 44514 or the
Leukemia Foundation in Richard¹s memory.
