Richard J. Shutrump Jr.

POLAND - Richard J. Shutrump Jr. 58, passed away unexpectedly at his home on January 15, 2025.

 Born on October 5, 1966, in Youngstown, the son of Richard J. and Elizabeth (Velk) Shutrump Sr. 

A proud graduate of Poland Seminary High School, Richard remained deeply connected to his community throughout his life. 

Richard was a devoted iron worker for Local 207, where he dedicated many years before retiring.

Those who knew him would often speak of his simple and genuine nature; he had a heartfelt love for animals and frequently took in stray cats and dogs, reflecting his compassionate spirit. Richard often enjoyed walking his dog, Roman, through the Poland Woods. He also found joy in old cars and spent his leisure time riding his motorcycle. Above all, Richard loved spending time with his daughter the most. 

Richard was a devoted father to his daughter, Brianna Shutrump, of Youngstown. He is also survived by his mother, Elizabeth Shutrump of Poland, and his sister, Whitney (Russell) Bogan of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his father; and partner Kimberly Price. 

Family and friends may call Monday, January 20, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM, both taking place at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home - Poland Chapel, located at 2726 Center Rd, Youngstown, OH 44514.
