AKRON ? Funeral services will be today at 6 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for Rita Diann Starkey, age 47, formerly of Youngstown, who died at her residence early Friday morning.
Rita was born in Warren Jan. 5, 1963, and lived most of her life in the Mahoning Valley.
Rita loved her children and grandchildren. She was an avid gardener, enjoying flower and vegetable gardening.
She is survived by her husband, Roger Starkey, whom she married June 6, 2009; her mother, Sandra Bennett of Youngstown; her daughter, Christina Ashford of Akron; four sons, Clyde Tammy Frondorf Jr., Robert Casandra Ruess Ashford II, Eric Ashford and Muhamed Harris, all of Youngstown; five grandchildren; two sisters, Tammy Regenski of Poland and Linda Smith of Youngstown; a stepdaughter, Lisa Ashford of Youngstown; aunts and uncles, Wanda Hughes of Youngstown, Mary Earl Schall of Austintown, D.M. ?Sonny? Phyllis Bennett of Girard, and Harold Cheryl Bennett of Girard; and several cousins and friends.
Rita was preceded in death by a daughter, Jamie Ashford.
Friends may call today from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
