BOARDMAN - Military services will be held at the Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, for Robert James Akers, 67, who died early Monday morning at his home.
Robert was born Feb. 1, 1944, in Youngstown, the son of Arthur and Margaret Riley Akers.
After serving in the Navy, he worked at the Tindall Corporation in Spartinsburg, S.C. as a welder before retiring.
He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Akers of Boardman; a son, Robert Akers of El Paso, Texas; two grandchildren, Megan and Jacob Akers; and his girlfriend, Candy Beight.
Professional arrangements are by the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel.
