AUSTINTOWN A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church for Robert P Hynes, 80, who passed away Tuesday afternoon at his home.
Robert was born March 26, 1928 in Youngstown, the son of Paul and Helen Lung Hynes.
Robert was a 1945 graduate of Ursuline High School. He was a veteran in the U.S. Navy serving in WWII and Korea. Robert worked in sales at the Youngstown Sheet and Tube, retiring in 1978.
After retiring, Robert worked for Trumbull Metal Services. Robert was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, the Canfield Bridge Club, Southside Bridge Club and the Saxon Club. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed golfing with his sons and friends.
His wife, the former Gloria Vimmerstedt, whom he married June 14, 1953, passed away Nov. 9, 1988.
Robert leaves his eight sons, John Janice Hynes of Zainesville, Robert Barbara Hynes of Howland, Mark Hynes of Austintown, Kevin Kathleen Hynes of Boardman, Emmett Lauren Hynes of Cleveland, James Karen Hynes of Hartford, Thomas Helen Marie Hynes of Austintown and Steven Hynes of Naples, Fla.; a sister, Mary Helen Hines of Harrisburg, Pa.; a brother, Dennis Carol Hynes of Lowellville; and 11 grandchildren.
Besides his parents and wife,
Robert was preceded in death by a daughter in 1984, Mary Claire Hynes; a grandson, John Robert Hynes; a sister, Patricia Kinney; and two brothers, John and Emmett Hynes.
Friends may call Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the
Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel and Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.
