AURORA - Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel for Mr. Robert Jacobson, 63, who died peacefully on Dec. 14, 2011, in Aurora, after a long and courageous battle with multiple sclerosis.
He was born March 4, 1948, in Youngstown, a son of Joseph and Mary Bindas Jacobson.
Robert was a graduate of Choffin Career Center. He was machinist/production manager, who retired from Altronic Inc. Robert had a love for stamp collecting, specializing in U.S., United Nations and Canadian stamps. He was a member of the American Philatelic Society for several years and a former member of St. Columba Cathedral, Youngstown.
Robert is survived by his daughter, Heather Spuhler and son-in-law, Ron Spuhler of Stow; a son, Dan Jacobson of Masury; a sister, Patricia Grinstead of Canfield; and two grandsons, Jacob and Brandon Spuhler.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Len Grinstead.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to all the wonderful caregivers Robert had throughout the years at Anna Maria of Aurora, Gracewoods Assisted Living, Janice Price, Dr. K. Mahlies, Dr. T Sirgh and the Hospice of Visiting Nurse service.
Friends may call Saturday from 9 a.m. till the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery.
