Robert Mcbride

POLAND ? Prayers will be offered Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at the Holy Family Church for Robert I. "Hercs" McBride, 66, who after beating cancer twice, died Friday morning after a courageous battle from health complications from his treatments.


Robert was born in Youngstown, Sept. 22, 1943, to John and Ethel Curry McBride.


He was a 1961 graduate of Springfield High School.


Hercs retired from the General Motors Lordstown Assembly plant as a metal finisher with 33 years of service. He also was a carpenter with MAC Enterprises, a remodeling business with his brother.


Hercs was a member of the Holy Family Parish and an avid car enthusiast who loved his G.T.O. and enjoyed car shows as well. He raised and owned horses, believed and used herbal remedies, and was a paint ball enthusiast with his team, Paintbusters.


He was preceded in death by his father, John McBride, and two infant daughters, Christina and Shannon.


He is survived by his wife, the former Barb Venglarcik, who he married June 6, 1964; his mother, Ethel Kral of Poland; a daughter, Marci McBride of Poland; three sons, Robert Francine McBride of Berlin Center, Randy McBride of Poland and Ryan Laura McBride of Poland; and eight grandchildren, Robert, Ian, Emily, Bridgette, Brendan, Madeleine, Colin and Patrick. He also leaves his two sisters, Beverly Harris of Beaver Township and Barb Dale Sullivan of Austintown and a brother, Bill Dorothy McBride of Poland.


Friends may call today from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.


Interment at St. John's Cemetery.
