POLAND - Services will be Tuesday evening at 7:00 PM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel for Robert A. Pavalko age 52 of Poland who passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon at his home after a seven month battle with cancer.
Bob was born February 16, 1954, in Youngstown the son of Andrew and Judy Kovach Pavalko.
Bob had a lifelong passion for the game of golf. He was a 1972 graduate of Chaney High School where he was a member of its golf team. In 1998 he was honored by Chaney High School by being inducted into its Athletic Hall of Fame for golf. In 1978 he graduated from Clark Technical College where he studied turf grass management and competed on its golf team. He had been currently serving as the Superintendent of Reserve Run Golf Course since 1998. Prior to Reserve Run he had been the Maintenance Coordinator for Mill Creek Golf Course, and from 1981 to 1988 served as the Superintendent at Tippecanoe Country Club. He was a member of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America and the Northern Ohio Golf Course Superintendents Association.
Bob is survived by his wife the former Julianne Pinter whom he married April 21, 1979, two sons, Robert Scott Kristina Pavalko of Columbus, and Nathan Lee Pavalko of Poland, his mother Judy Pavalko of Youngstown, and a sister, Arlene Gerald Hicks of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Friends may call from 3 PM to 7 PM Tuesday evening at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel.
