BOARDMAN - Services will be Monday at 3:00 PM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield chapel for Robert R. Sargent age 83 of Boardman who passed away Friday afternoon at Beegley E.R. after being stricken at home.
Robert was born September 6, 1921 in Youngstown, the son of Robert and Maude Little Sargent.
He had worked at Youngstown Northern Railroad as a dispatcher for over 33 years, and had also worked at the Daugherty-Davis Wholesale Distributors as a shipping dispatcher. He had served in the Army during W.W.II, where had had fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Sargent was a former member of the Pilgrim Collegiate Church, and a current member of Faith Community Church.
His wife the former Betty nan Connor whom he married November 26, 1942, died march 30, 1997.
He is survived by two sons, Robert J. and wife Ginger Sargent of Berlin Lake, and Richard L. and companion Cheryl Johnson Sargent of Boardman, seven grandchildren, and six grandchildren.
Friends may call from 1PM to 3 PM Monday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel.
