YOUNGSTOWN - Funeral Services will be held Tuesday at 5 PM at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel for Robin "Rusty" Dee Boye, 70, who passed away Friday at his home.
Rusty was born Aug. 29, 1946 in Omaha, NE, a son of the late Millard and Phyllis Boye.
Rusty graduated from Omaha Tech High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1963 and served during the Vietnam War and was stationed all over the world. Rusty retired from the Navy in 1990 after 27 years. He was also an avid golfer, bowling enthusiast, and he loved music. Rusty was a cancer survivor and battled other conditions related to cancer treatments.
Rusty leaves his wife of 39 years, the former Amie Laret, whom he married June 4, 1977; their children, Theresa (David) House of Albany, OH, Phillip (Shelley) Boye of Brooklyn, NY, Katherine (Fiancé, Patrick Csongei) Boye of Los Angeles, CA; along with his children Richard Boye and Sherry Boye from a previous marriage; two grandchildren, Norah and Evan House; and a sister, Carron (Gary) Fitzpatrick of Omaha, NE.
Rusty was also preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Russel.
Family and friends may call Tuesday, prior to services, from 1 to 5 PM. Military Honors will follow the services at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers material tributes may take the form of donations to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market Street, Boardman, Ohio 44512.
