YOUNGSTOWN - Funeral services will be held on Friday at noon, at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, for Rodger Davis, 69, who died Tuesday afternoon at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown.
Roger was born Nov. 3, 1949, in North Bloomfield, the son of Russell and Bernice (Hipple) Davis.
After graduating from Champion High School in 1967, Rodger met the love of his life, the former Sandra DiRocco, on her birthday, and married her shortly after on Aug. 3, 1968.
He worked nearly 34 years for General Motors, retiring in 2001, and was a longtime member of the U.A.W.
Rodger enjoyed scouting, camping, swimming, and rock hounding. He also loved to attend gem shows and travel the country.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Davis; son Rodger (Hope) Davis Jr. of Youngstown; granddaughter Angela Davis of Youngstown; niece Lisa Ramm; and nephew Scott Ramm.
Rodger was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents Guy and Eva Hipple and Walter and Clera Davis; and sister Barbara Ramm.
Family and friends may call Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. and Friday from 11 a.m. to noon, all at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, Rodger requested that you have a drink in remembrance of him.
