AUSTINTOWN - Funeral services will take place on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, for Roger E. Ozias, 77, who passed away Wednesday evening surrounded by family.
Roger was born May 27, 1935, in Highland Park, Mich., to Eugene and Alice Brautigam Ozias.
He graduated from Highland Park High School and attended Highland Park Junior College for one year.
Roger began his 41 year career with General Motors at Fisher Body Fleetwood Plant in Detroit in 1953. In 1966, Roger was transferred to the GM Lordstown plant. In 1972, he became superintendent of Tooling and retired in 1994.
Mr. Ozias was a member of the Christ Church Presbyterian, where he served as a Deacon for six years and an Elder for five years.
Roger was an avid golfer and was a member of Salem Hills Country Club. He was Club Champion for senior division in 2007. Roger enjoyed sports and loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria, whom he married June 17, 1977; one daughter, Tracy Dino Balkan of Austintown; two sons, Gene Donna Ozias of Columbus and Robert Kelly Ozias of Brookfield; two stepsons, Brian Michelle Goss of Warren and Douglas fiance Judy Goss; one sister, Patty Bell of Royal Oak, Mich; one brother, Robert Donna Ozias of Royal Oak; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Warden of Austintown; eight grandchildren, Tony, Staci, Joshua, Tiffany, Brianna, Ashley, Joey and Anna; and four great-grandchildren, Delaney, Jadah, Mathew, and Annalise.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends may call Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
