Ronald Petrus

YOUNGSTOWN — Ronald J. Petrus, 87, formerly of Youngstown, passed away Thursday morning, July 8, 2021, at The Pines of Clarkston in Michigan.

He was born July 17, 1933, in Youngstown, a son of the late John and Ann Duran Petrus.

Ronald was a 1952 graduate of Chaney High School. He served his country in the Army. Ronald retired from Ohio Bell, where he was a telephone installer. He enjoyed football and loved going to car shows.

Ronald is survived by his son, Ron (Kelly) Petrus of Lake Orion, Mich.; and a brother, Raymond Petrus of Youngstown.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy J. Opatich Petrus, whom he married Nov. 10, 1956, and who passed away Feb. 22, 2005.

Family and friends may call Sunday, July 11, 2021, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel. Prayers will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home and a Mass of Christian burial will follow at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church.
