BOARDMAN - A prayer service will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church Youngstown officiated by the Rev. MSGR. Michael Carliglio, for Mrs. Rose (Mele) Pallante, 99, formerly of the Joseph Knight Towers in Austintown, who died Monday morning at Vista Care Center.
She was born Dec. 27, 1915, in Youngstown, a daughter of Joseph and Mary Chance Mele.
Rose was married to Joseph Pallante, who died July 8, 1981.
She was a member of the church.
After Joseph died, she moved to the Joseph Knight Towers and while living there, she enjoyed participating in the ceramic class.
Rose leaves her sister, Anita (Charles) Spagnola of Greensboro, N.C.; two nieces, Christine Mele (Felix) Savon and Maureen Mele (Victor) Margio; four nephews, Sam (Stephanie) Costello, David (Linda) Spagnola, Dr. Rocco (Cathy E.) Mele and Phillip Mele Jr.; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph; her daughter, Joanne Pallante; two sisters, Phyllis Costello and Carmele Sanders; and four brothers, Patrick, Phillip, Rocco and Anthony Mele.
Friends may call Friday from 9 to 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
