POLAND - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at the Holy Family Church for Rose D. Polas, 86, who died late Thursday evening at Beeghly Oaks Nursing Home.
Rose was born Sept. 8, 1924, in Bessemer, Pa., to the late Joseph and Carmella Tomasello D'Amico.
She was a graduate of Bessemer High School. Rose was a X-Ray Technician and Facility Director at St. Elizabeth Health Center. She was also active in the family business, Polas Real Estate with her husband Don.
Rose is survived by her husband of 57 years, Don Polas who she married May 29, 1953; a daughter, Kathy Giovanni and her husband, John Giovanni III, of Oceanside, Calif.; a granddaughter, Cerissa Giovanni of Los Angelus, Calif.; a grandson, John Giovanni IV, of Huntington Beach, Calif.; and great-granddaughter, Gianna Cannon of Austintown.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by his five brothers, Leonard, Mike, Carmen, Joe, and Pete D'Amico and two sisters, Mary and Grace D'Amico.
Friends may call Monday, one half hour prior to Mass from 9:30 to 10 a.m. at the church.
Burial will be at Poland Riverside Cemetery.
