UNIONTOWN - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Michael Church, 300 N. Broad St. in Canfield, for Rose Marie Ritzler, 89, who passed away Friday at Altercare of Hartville. Rose was born Feb. 13, 1928, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Leo A. and Rose W. (Sattler) Billock. Rose was a 1946 graduate of Ursuline High School and was a member of the U.S. Naval Reserves. She was a dental assistant for Dr. C.J. Harder for 10 years. Rose was an active member of St. Michael Church and their Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a former member of the Corydon Dental Society. She had a passion for traveling and visited every continent except for Antartica with her husband. Rose loved her family and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Her husband, George F. Ritzler, whom she married April 12, 1958, passed away July 12, 2000. Rose leaves a daughter, Jennifer (Robert Mesaros) Carubia of Uniontown; three sons, John C. (Brenda) Ritzler of Austintown, Joseph G. (Paula) Ritzler of Westlake, and Jeffrey A. (Charles) Jones-Ritzler of Lexington, Ky.; three grandchildren, Adam and Charles Ritzler, and Matthew Carubia; a sister, Patricia Sunderman of Warren; sisters-in-law Carmel Billock of Struthers, Rose Mary Billock of Youngstown, and Agnes Billock of Youngstown; a brother-in-law, James R. (Judith) Ritzler of Bluffton, S.C.; and a sister-in-law, Helen M. Vent of Upper Sandusky; and many nieces and nephews. Rose was preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy Davis, Ruth Salata, and Mary Billock-Morris; and five brothers, Barney, William, Leo, Edward and James Billock. Family and friends may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel and Wednesday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
