BOARDMAN - Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 17, at 1 p.m. at St. Mark’s Victory Lutheran Church, for Roy W. Chunn Jr., who died Saturday evening at home surrounded by his loving family.
Roy was born Jan. 12, 1942, in Paragould, Ark., a son of the late Roy and Moneda (Harvey) Chunn.
Upon graduating high school, Roy was employed by General Motors where he worked as a WEMR.
Roy loved woodworking, riding his spider motorcycle, flying drones, and RC planes. His greatest love was for his family, especially his grandchildren, and was known to them as “Big Pa”. He will be deeply missed by his dog, Gertie, that he loved so much.
He is survived by his beloved wife, the former Ruth Ann Meyer, whom he married Oct. 26, 1963; two daughters, Sara Ellen Chunn of Poland and Maggie Ann Tomory of Canfield; his son, Rodney William Chunn of Boardman; his sister, Catherine Rose (Ronald) Coussens of Sarasota, Fla.; his brother, Robert Wain (Phyllis) Chunn of Flushing, Mich.; and four grandchildren, Jacob William and Lucas Paul Tomory, Aiden Richard and Emma Naomi Chunn.
Family and friends may attend calling hours on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel, 2726 Center Road., and on Saturday from noon to 1 p.m. at the church.
