Rudy Gerek

POLAND - Prayers will begin Thursday morning at 9:30 AM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at Holy Family Church at 10:00 AM for Rudy Gerek age 73 of Poland whop passed away Monday evening.
Rudy was born November 6, 1935 in Struthers, the son of Mike and Lillian Petrunich Gerek.
A 1953 graduate of Struthers High School, he later graduated from Youngstown State University with his Bachelors of Science in Business Administration. He had worked as a billing accountant with the Cafaro Corporation for over twenty years before retiring in 2007.
He had served in the U.S. Air Force Reserve, coached Little League Baseball for Poland and was a longtime member of Holy Family Church.
He is survived by his wife the former Sally Parisi whom he married September 14, 1957, a daughter Laura Johnson of Franklin, Tennessee, a son Ryan Gerek of Poland.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Olga Koren, and a brother Joe Gerek.
