AUSTINTOWN - Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel, for Russell H. Bailey, 45, who died suddenly, Sunday, at his home, from heart complications.
Russell was born Feb. 21, 1969, in Youngstown, the son of Gerald and Janice (Wilson) Bailey.
He was a 1987 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School and later earned his Bachelor's Degree in Art Education from Youngstown State University. He began his teaching career at Warren Western Reserve High School, where he also coached girls' golf. For the last 17 years, he taught Art and served as a track coach at Campbell Memorial High School. Russell was an avid golfer and skier and founded the ski club at Campbell Memorial High School and Middle School. For a number of years, Russell raced all-terrain vehicles, winning two national championships.
He will be remembered by his family as a devoted father, son and brother.
He is survived by his father, Gerald Bailey of Austintown; his son, Ross P. Bailey; daughter Zoe Bailey, both of Austintown; and his brother and sister-in-law, Gerald B. and Christine Bailey of Boardman.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Janice Bailey.
Russell's family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations for a fund for the education of his children.
Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. and Thursday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel.
