YOUNGSTOWN - Services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel for Ruth I. Driscoll, 81, who went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday.
Ruth was born March 14, 1930, in Youngstown, the daughter of James E. and Helen I. Burkey Gillespie.
She was a 1948 graduate of Chaney High School, and a homemaker. Ruth assisted her husband in his Pastoral duties as a minister at Grace Chapel, Berean Baptist and the Poland Center Community Church. She would play the piano and organ for the church services and help spread the Gospel through child evangelism and bible clubs.
She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother by her family.
She is survived by her husband, the Rev. Richard Driscoll, whom she married April 9, 1951; two daughters, Margie Bill Stitzel of Youngstown and Becky Bigelow of Lakewood, Fla.; three sons, James Sharon Driscoll of Austintown, Phillip Driscoll of Austintown and Paul Chrystal Driscoll of Youngstown; two brothers, Dr. Rev. James A. Gillespie of Pennsylvania and Rev. Paul Grace Gillespie of Florida; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Richard Driscoll; a daughter-in-law, Debra Driscoll; and a niece, Karen Stitzel.
