North Lima- Funeral services will be 11AM Friday in the Higgins Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel for Ruth Lawler, age 96, of North Lima, formerly of Youngstown, who died Tuesday evening at Assumption Village surrounded by her family.
Ruth was born February 13, 1912 in Punxsutawney, PA to the Late Charles and Anna Dora Mauk Swartz.
She came to the Youngstown area as a child, she attended South High School. Her first job was at Strouss-Hirshberg department store in Youngstown, she retired from the A&P Warren Store.
Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband William A. Lawler, whom she married April 12, 1934 he died February 11, 1996. she is also preceded by three sisters, Fay Ellis, Evelyn Stoll, and Helen Durell, two brothers, Frank and Charles Swartz.
She leaves to cherish her memory and many stories a son, Richard Dorothy Lawler of Lake City, PA., two daughters, Linda Jack Schwarten and Karen Albert Thomas; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren.
Friends may call Today from 6-8PM and Friday one hour prior to services 10-11AM.
Entombment in Green Haven Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to thank the staff and many wonderful nurses and aids at Assumption Village.
