BOARDMAN - Prayers will begin Friday morning at 10:45 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11:30 a.m. at St. Christine Church for Sabina Anne Ondash, 93, who died at her home Monday evening
Sabina was born Jan. 27, 1920, in Nashua, N.H., the daughter of Albin and Anna (Capelik) Kozlowski.
She was a graduate of the Maryland General Hospital School of Nursing in Baltimore. She later served during World War II as a 1st Lieutenant in the Army Nurse Corps from 1942 to 1945. She was a member of St. Christine Church, the St. Elizabeth Hospital Auxiliary, the Ikebana Garden Club at Mill Creek Park, Lanterman Falls Club, her ladies Bridge Club and loved walking and hiking and traveling all over the world.
Her husband, Dr. Stephen Ondash M.D., whom she married Oct. 10, 1945, died July 9, 1994.
She is survived by four daughters, Valerie Frederick, Stephanie (Robert) McEaneney, Christine (Rodney) Owens and Melanie (William) Kutlick; six grandchildren, Kristin, Megan, Stephanie, Christopher, Amanda and Jeffrey; and five great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Anne Labul and Stephanie A. Bouchard.
Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel.
The family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Boardman, OH 44512.
