CANFIELD - A memorial service celebrating the life of Sally A. Holcomb, 79, will be held Saturday, July 7, at 11 a.m. at the Canfield Presbyterian Church. Sally left this world surrounded by her family Friday morning at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.
Sally was born Dec. 23, 1938, in Youngstown, the daughter of Paul and Mary (Hemma) Maguire.
She was a 1956 graduate of Chaney High School. Sally began her career at The Vindicator, where she worked in the office. She later worked for US Steel and Jet Rubber as a trimmer and inspector.
Sally was a member of the Canfield Presbyterian Church, the Red Hats Society, and a Chaney Cowgirl. She enjoyed sewing in her spare time. Above all, she enjoyed the time she spent with her children and grandchildren.
Sally’s husband, Paul H. Holcomb Sr., whom she married Nov. 16, 1957, died Oct. 22, 2009.
She is survived by her daughter, Renee (Brian) Altiero of Camas, Wash.; three sons, Duane (Brenda) Holcomb of Canfield, Dale (Donna) Holcomb of Parkman, and Dr. Paul Jr. (Nancy) Holcomb of Maryville, Tenn.; nine grandchildren, Keith, Kevin, Matthew, Tabitha, Travis, Alanna, Ethan, Eliza and Ira; and four great-grandchildren, Gracie, Cohen and Sadie Holcomb and PJ Esmerovic.
Sally was also preceded in death by her parents and brother William Maguire.
Family and friends may call one hour prior to the service on Saturday the at church. The family has requested that memorial tributes take the form of donations to the Canfield Presbyterian Church, 140 W. Main St., Canfield, OH 44406.
Professional arrangements are being handled by the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel.
