DIAMOND - Services will be Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, North Jackson Chapel, for Sally Mae Vasko, 88, who died Friday at ValleyCare Northside Medical Center in Youngstown.
Sally was born July 27, 1926, in Cleveland, the daughter of Thomas O. and Anna M. (Wilson) Holland.
During World War II, she worked at Packard Electric, Timkin Roller and Bearing and later, at General Electric as a light bulb inspector. She moved to this area in 1956. She was a member of the 4:30 Club, the American Legion Post No. 737 and the Youngstown Restored Church of Jesus Christ.
Her husband, Stephen Z. Vasko, whom she married Jan. 4, 1958, died Aug. 14, 2003.
She is survived by three sons, Raymond W. (Lillian) Holland of Independence, Mo., Stephen (Jeannette) Vasko of Diamond and Thomas N. (Rebekah) Vasko of Austintown; a sister, Margaret (John) Whitacre of Massillon; four grandchildren, Shoshanna, Charity, Raymond and Tiffany; and a great-granddaughter, Lucy Grace.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Harlie T. Brown; and a brother, Robert T. Holland.
Friends may call Tuesday from 4 until the time of services at 6 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, North Jackson Chapel.
