Samuel "Sami C " Clay, 68, passed away on April 1, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital.
He was born on August 23, 1955, in Youngstown.
After graduating from Austintown Fitch High School, Sam honorably served his country in the United States Army. Following his military service, he pursued a career as a Truck Driver for Tamarkin before establishing himself as an independent driver.
Those who knew Sam will remember him for his kind and generous spirit. He had a passion for helping others and actively participated in various service works throughout his lifetime.
Sam is survived by his loving wife, Pamela Yohman Clay, whom he married on October 10, 1992; his siblings, Ruby "Sue" McDonnell of North Canton, William (Rose) Clay of Austintown, Tom Clay of Boardman, and Penny Clay of Austintown; his niece and nephew, Marley (Drew) Rigley and John Jones; mother-in-law, Joann Yohman of Youngstown; sister-in-law and caregiver, Carla Yohman of Youngstown; as well as his niece and goddaughter, Kara Patterson and nephew Brandon Patterson who lovingly helped care for him and was so proud of.
Besides his parents, Sam was preceded in death by his brother John Jones; father-in-law Pete Yohman; sister-in-law Andrea Yohman; and brother-in-law Bill McDonnell.
In honoring Sam's memory, visitation will be held on Friday April 5th from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, 4303 Mahoning Avenue, where a funeral service will follow at 6 PM.
