Samuel R. Wagner, 77
NORTH JACKSON Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Higgins-Reardon
Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel, for Samuel R. Wagner, 77, who died
Friday evening at the Hospice House.
Sam was born Dec. 27, 1929 in West Virginia, the son of Robert and Lena
Spencer Wagner.
He was a 1947 graduate of Greenbank High School in West Virginia. A brick
layer by trade, he later became a salesman for C-E Refractories, where he
worked for more than 28 years, retiring in 1985.
He enjoyed gardening, music, and polka dancing. He also enjoyed working
outside and making renovations and additions to his home.
Sam leaves his wife, the former Kathleen Kregenow, whom he married Aug. 2,
1969; two daughters, Heidi Wagner and Holly David Edwards, both of North
Jackson; three sons, Samuel R. Wagner Jr. of Akron, Curtis Wagner of Kent,
and Darren Wagner of North Jackson; two sisters, Peg Leonard Collins and
Jeanne Dale Gragg, both of Painesville; and three grandchildren, Hannah,
Madison, and Hadley.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday
at the funeral home.
