CANFIELD-Services will be Friday at 10:30 AM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel, and at 11:30 AM at St. Christine Church for Samuel James Weitzman age 60 who passed away Monday morning at the Hospice House after a two year illness.
Sam was born March 22, 1946, in Youngstown, the son of William and Mary Kula Weitzman.
He was a 1964 graduate of South High School and an Army Veteran. He had worked at GM Lordstown for over 37 years retiring as a safety trainer and lockout technician in 2004. After his retirement from GM, he and his wife founded S & K Properties. He was a member of the Eagles Meander Eire in Austintown, was an avid motorcyclist, and was a member of the Harley Owners group.
He is survived by his wife the former Kim Llewellyn whom he married November 2, 1990, her parents Ralph and Louise Davis of Las Vegas, his mother Mary Weitzman Boardman, sons Scott R. at home, and James and William Weitzman of Cleveland, daughters, Jolynn Steve Burt of Chillicothe, Oh, and Brittany Wietzman of Cleveland, a sister, Dolores Weitzman of Boardman, and three grandchildren Ryan and Rachel Burt, and James Weitzman.
He was preceded in death by his father and a son Bryan Weitzman.
Friends may call from 5 PM to 9 PM Thursday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel.
