Sandy D'Alessandro

GIRARD - Private family services were held for Sandy R. D’Alessandro, 74, who passed away Monday morning at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Health Center.

He was born May 19, 1944, in Bugnara, Italy, a son of the late Rick and Lucy (DiFiore) D’Alessandro.

Sandy was a 1962 graduate of Girard High School. He worked for the Erie Lackawanna Railroad as a Trackman, the Youngstown Sheet and Tube in the seamless department, and at the Locomotive Shop. Sandy loved gardening and working on cars.

His wife, the former Sharin Parks, passed away Feb. 19, 1990.

Sandy is survived by two sisters, Gracy D’Alessandro of Girard and Anna (William) Dyer of Struthers; and a nephew, Richard F. Dyer of Struthers.

In lieu of flowers, material tributes may take the form of donations to the American Cancer Society, 525 N Broad St, Canfield, OH 44406.

Professional arrangements were handled by Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel.

Sandy was laid to rest at Poland Riverside Cemetery.
