AUSTINTOWN - Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel for Sherri L. Meek, 46, who went to be with the Lord Thursday, July 2 at University Hospital in Cleveland, due to a rare autoimmune disease.
Sherri was born Sept. 28, 1962, in Uniontown, Pa., the daughter of Jesse Jr. and Marlene Doman Meek.
Sherri was a 1980 graduate of Western Reserve High School in Berlin Center and a 1982 graduate of Willoughby-Eastlake School of Nursing. She had been a nurse for more than 25 years and was employed by Omni West as the Resident Care Coordinator.
Sherri was a loving, compassionate person who always opened up her heart to others.
She leaves her mother, Marlene Meek of Berlin Center; two grandmothers, Eleanor Meek of Berlin Center and Marge Doman of Uniontown; a sister, Tracie Chris Cummings of Berlin Center; a brother, Jesse Maria Meek of Berlin Center; her boyfriend, Mark Stanley of Austintown; three nieces, Presley Cummings, Shelby and Karlie Meek; a nephew, Chase Cummings; and her dog, Bailey.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jesse S. Meek Jr.; and two grandfathers, Jesse S. Meek Sr. and William E. Doman.
The family will be receiving friends Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
