Shirley Ann Breedlove

AUSTINTOWN - Shirley Ann Breedlove, 87, died Thursday, November 21, 2024 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Boardman surrounded by her family. 

Shirley was born Nov. 5, 1937 in Youngstown, the daughter of George and Sara (Cubbage) Forney. 

She was a 1956 graduate of Chaney High School. Shirly retired from the dietary department from Omni Manor Nursing Home in 1999. 

Shirley was a member of the Silver Sneakers, and lunch clubs at Highway Tabernacle Church. She also was involved in the Multigenerational Center in Girard. 

In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, crafting, traveling and shopping. Shirley also enjoyed spending time outdoors and with her beloved animals. 

Shirley is survived by her husband, Leighton Breedlove, whom she married July 12, 1958; her daughter, Patricia Lynn (Lee) Simeon of Hubbard, son, Dale (Beth) Breedlove of Hudson, FL; son-in-law, Cary Dickey of IN; five grandchildren, Stephen Dickey, Anna Simeon, Tracy (Wesley) Williams, Dominic (Nicole) Breedlove and Lee Simeon; and four great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Peggy Lee Dickey; sisters, Marge Schubert and Helen Pinkerton; and brother Eddie Forney. 

Family and friends may call Saturday from 1:30 to 2:30 pm at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, followed by a funeral service at 2:30 pm.
