COLUMBUS - Shirley Mae Cagna, age 83, passed away Feb. 21, 2019, in Columbus.
She was born in Youngstown, to the late Tony and Ruth (Straley) Pitts.
Shirley attended Boardman High School and graduated from Youngstown State University with a degree in elementary education.
On June 28, 1958, Shirley married Richard J. Cagna, her devoted husband of 41 years. After teaching in the Youngstown City Schools, she was a dedicated homemaker for her family in Poland.
Shirley is survived by three children, Kathleen (Spencer) Edwards of Columbus, David (Helen) Cagna of Memphis, Tenn. and Thomas (Susan) Cagna of Nashville, Tenn.; and six grandchildren, William and Matthew Edwards, and Caitlin, Danielle, Sarah, and Alex Cagna.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Cagna; sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Frank Plihcik; and sister-in-law and brother-in law Sylvia and John Kelemen.
Family will receive friends at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2019, at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home Poland Chapel, 2726 CenterRoad, Poland, OH 44514, where a funeral service will begin at 10 a.m.
Interment to follow at Poland Riverside Cemetery.
