Shirley May

YOUNGSTOWN - Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel for Shirley E. May, 81, who passed away early Wednesday morning at her home.

Shirley was born May 10, 1937, in Kingwood, W.Va., a daughter of the late Gerald and Barbara (Wilt) Pyles.

Shirley enjoyed baking, gardening, and canning.  She loved volunteering her time outreaching to folks at assisted living and nursing homes. Her greatest love was for her family and spending time with all of them.

Her husband, Harold F. May, whom she married April 10, 1952, passed away Oct. 15, 2015.

Shirley leaves her daughter, DeVenna (Jim) Davis of Youngstown; two sons, Harold (Debbie Jean) May and Joe (Angel) May, both of Canfield; 21 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Gerald “Bill” (Martha) Pyles of Lake Milton.

Shirley was also preceded in death by two daughters, Ruth Ann May and Debra Featsent; a son, John May Sr.; four grandchildren; two sisters; and six brothers.

Family and friends may call Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
