YOUNGSTOWN - A funeral service will be held Monday at 6 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, to celebrate the life of Shirley A. Statler, 76, who died Friday at Hospice House.
Shirley was born April 29, 1938, in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Lucille Calabria Molinaro and Dominic Molinaro, who raised her, and her father, Dominic Ferraro.
She was a graduate of East High School. Besides being a mother and grandmother, Shirley worked at GBS and Giant Eagle as a bookkeeper. Shirley was raised a Catholic. She loved to crochet, play bingo and the lottery and loved having her hair done.
Shirley is survived by her daughters, Cindy Manchi of Texas, and Dina Royal (Ron Clay) of Niles; sons James Manchi of Boyton Beach, Fla., and Patrick (Jennifer) Manchi of Houston; sisters Jeanette Pizzuto of Youngstown, Patty Alexander (Ron Rambo) of Youngstown and Joan (Ron) Deak of Austintown; and grandchildren Will and Caroline Manchi, Cassidy McSween, Matthew and John Tinney and Nicholas Royal.
Besides her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Jane Mayle.
Family and friends may call on Monday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel.
