VILLA MARIA, PA. - Sr. Mary Louise Martin, H.M., 84, formerly Sr. M. Thomas, died Friday, Sept. 5, 2014, at Villa Maria Community Center, Villa Maria, Pa.
Born in Lowellville, she entered the Sisters of the Humility of Mary Congregation in 1952. She was a registered nurse and served at St. Elizabeth Health Center and St. Joseph Riverside Hospital in Warren. She ministered as a volunteer on the pastoral care team and in The Villa Shoppe at Villa Maria Community Center, Villa Maria. She shared in the ministry of prayer from 2002 until her death.
The daughter of the late Thomas and Julia (Shehy) Martin, she is survived by her brother, William P. Martin, of Simi Valley, Calif.; her sister, Julianna Sanda, of Solon; many nieces and nephews and their families; and her sisters in the Humility of Mary Congregation, with whom she shared her life for 61 years.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Sept. 9, at 3 p.m. at the Villa Maria Chapel, Villa Maria. Friends may call at the Villa Maria Chapel Monday, Sept. 8, from 3 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m., and Tuesday, Sept. 9, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. A Prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8.
