YOUNGSTOWN-Services will be Monday at 9:00 AM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, and at 9:30 AM at Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church for Stella Ondash age 80 of Youngstown who passed away Thursday at Forum Northside medical Center.
Stella was born January 18, 1926, in Youngstown, the daughter of Stephen and Helen Iwaniow Rowan.
She was a 1943 graduate of Scienceville High School and a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church. She had worked at Packard Electric for over 32 years before retiring in 1988, and enjoyed traveling.
Her husband Joseph R. Ondash whom she married in 1947 died December 13, 1987.
She is survived by two sons, Kenny and his wife Donna Ondash of Youngstown, and Jeffrey and his wife Denean Ondash of Canfield, a sister Helen and her husband Frank Serbati of Erie, PA, a brother Steve Rohan of Youngstown, and three granddaughters, Sherry Lynn Babak, Loran Ondash, and Carlie Ondash.
Besides her husband she was preceded in death by a son Joseph Ondash, two sisters, Sophie Blotsky, and Anna Wiant, and two brothers Walter and Michael Rohan.
Friends may call from 4 PM to 8 PM Sunday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel where a prayer service will be at 7:30 PM.
The family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to Tod's Childrens Hospital in Stella's memory.
