YOUNGSTOWN - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 10 AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Youngstown for Stella A. Zone, 87, who passed away Wednesday at Hospice House.
Stella was born Aug. 3, 1925 in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Tony and Antonette (Vechiarella) Zone.
Stella graduated from The Rayen School and Youngstown College. She was a teacher for St. John the Baptist and then the Youngstown City School. She was also a member of the Mahoning and Ohio Teachers Association, AARP, Catholic Collegiate's, Legion of Mary, YSU Alumni, Adorer of the Eucharist, and Christian Children Sponsor for 35 years.
Stella leaves her brother Anthony "Tony Spike" Zone of Youngstown; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Family and friends may call Saturday from 9 to 10 AM at the church
Burial will take at Calvary Cemetery.
Material tributes will take the form of donation to Hospice House.
Professional arrangements are being handled by Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel.
