Stephen Klacik

August 7, 1942 — September 2, 2015

YOUNGSTOWN - Prayers will begin Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, for Stephen J. Klacik, 73, who died Wednesday evening at home, surrounded by his family.

Stephen was born Aug. 7, 1942, in Youngstown, the son of Michael and Mary (Joney) Klacik.

He was a 1960 graduate of Chaney High School and attended Youngstown State University. Stephen worked as a service manager at AIM National Leasing for about 15 years, until his retirement. He was also a part-time real estate agent for many years.

Stephen was a member of St. Joseph Church, their men's club and golf league. He was also a Eucharistic minister.

Stephen enjoyed golfing, and was most proud of his hole-in-one at Duck Creek Golf Course on Oct. 6, 2005, on the 17th hole.

He also loved fishing, water sports, and the Ohio State Buckeyes. Most of all, Stephen loved spending time with his grandchildren, who affectionately referred to him as, "Papa, the man, the myth, the legend."

Stephen is survived by his wife, the former Betty Magnoski, whom he married April 11, 1970; four daughters, Vickie Klacik of Austintown, Denise (David) Fedorek of Austintown, Chrissy (Jody) Gwin of Pennsylvania, and Michelle (Tom) Christy of Austintown; two brothers, John (Joanne) Klacik of Boardman and Paul (Julie) Klacik of Austintown; 10 grandchildren, Paul James Marquette, Jonathan, Jenna, Mary and Kourney Fedorek, Braydin and Miley Gwin, and Stefani, Madison and Alyson Christy; and one great-grandson, Jackson Fedorek.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Michael Klacik; and three sisters, Ann Bukovinski, Helen Keneally, and infant sister, Mary Klacik.

Family and friends may call Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to the American Lung Association, 55 W. Wacker Dr., Suite 1150, Chicago, IL 60601.
