DIAMOND - Services will be Saturday morning, at 10 a.m., at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, North Jackson Chapel, for Stephen J. Zimmer, 67, who died Wednesday morning, at his home, after a brief illness.
Stephen was born March 2, 1948, in Pittsburgh, the son of Stephen and Ruth (Ryan) Zimmer.
He was a graduate of Baldwin High School and served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves during the Vietnam War. He had worked at Taylor Winfield Technologies for over 20 years, as a supervisor until the time of his illness.
He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 737 of Lake Milton and was a MOPAR car enthusiast.
He is survived by his wife, the former Diane L. Cosgrove, whom he married July 30, 1983; a daughter, Christie M. and her fiancé, Pete J. Rozzi III; a brother, James Zimmer of Diamond; his longtime friends, the Kuzak family, Jim, Bev, Jimmy and his fiancée, Chris; and his dogs, who he referred to as his boys, Scooter, Charlie and Gunner.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, North Jackson Chapel, 439 S. Salem-Warren Road, Route 45.
The family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to the Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley in Stephen's memory.
