CANFIELD - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Michael Church, 300 North Broad St. in Canfield, for Steve Kondas, 96, who passed away Saturday at his home with his family by his side.
Steve was born April 12, 1915, in Jessup Lakawanna, Pa., the son of Andrew and Elizabeth Niscak Kondas.
Steve graduated from Campbell Memorial High School. He was one of the original store design engineers for Stambaugh Thompson Hardware, where he spent his entire career. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and dancing.
Steve leaves his wife, the former Theresa Ambrosia Schiraldi, whom he married Aug. 14, 1988; his two sons, Thomas Stephen Sharlene Kondas and Richard Joseph Lorraine Kondas, both of Columbus; his two stepchildren, Georgiann Raymond Ballard and Richard Susan Schiraldi, both of Canfield; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Kathryn Staron Kondas; his second wife, Ann Marie Margiotta Kondas; two grandchildren, Thomas and Cynthia Kondas; his three sisters, Julia Bakos, Elizabeth Rako and Margaret Kish; and three brothers, Andrew, John and William Kondas.
Family and friends may call Tuesday from 8:30 to 11 a.m. at St. Michael Church.
In lieu of flowers, material tributes may take the form of donations to Hospice of the Valley.
