Sue Zone

YOUNGSTOWN - Prayers will be held Friday at 8:45 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Youngstown for Sue Marie Zone, 87, who passed away Tuesday morning at Austinwoods Nursing Center.

Sue was born Dec. 3, 1921 in Youngstown, the daughter of Tony and Antonette Vechiarella Zone.

Sue graduated from The Rayen School.

During World War II, she was employed at General Fireproofing and then was employed in the Dietary Department at St. Elizabeth Health Center for 39 years.

Sue was a member of the Addoration, the Legion of Mary, and the Senior Citizens of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.

Sue leaves a sister, Stella Zone of Youngstown; two brothers, Pio James Zone and Anthony Zone, both of Austintown; a niece, Ruth Ann Shaw; three nephews, Frank, Carmen and Jim Zone; and her guardian angels, Dee Delores Vicarel and Joanne Colla.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Frank Zone.

The family will be receiving friends Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
